Welcome to the
Morwens Kiwanis Club of Algona, Iowa USA.
The name
"Morwens" means
"early morning" in Old English. The club was named by the now deceased long time Algona High teacher Jack Celoni. The Morwens Kiwanians serve the community of Algona and the surrounding area with volunteers and quality projects that benefit the children of families of Algona and beyond. We do this through community programs such as a fishing derby, pumpkin decorating, leadership training classes, support for Aktion Club, and of course- fundraisers. Join a club that is doing something to change the world one child, one community at a time!
The Morwens meet every Wednesday at the Chrome Country Inn at 7:00 AM. Meetings are over by 8:00 AM so you can be on your way for the day. Please come join us for fellowship and service.

Meet our President, Walter Reemtsma.
Walter is a retired Jr. Hi. Science teacher at the
Algona O.B. Laing Middle School. Walter was
especially noted for his many years of Science Fair
involvement - both at the local and state levels.
Walter is also a lay pastor in the Presbyterian Church.
He and his wife Jan have 2 boys and 2 girls that are
grown and have active families. Walt is also proud of
his "side business" providing flowers for weddings and
other special events. As can be seen, there is not much
this man does not do - and do with excellence.
